Many of us are still dealing with the wounds from the COVID-19 pandemic, which claimed many lives and is a trauma that takes longer to recover from.

Because AI provides numerous answers to people’s everyday problems, it has surpassed humans in their daily lives. Its assertions are not meant to arouse anxiety, but they indicate that the likelihood of another pandemic occurring over the next ten years is one in four.

This new pandemic, dubbed as ‘DiseaseX,’ which could be influenza or something new, is causing a stir among the scientists throughout the world. So, let’s examine what the role of AI is in helping to fight the next pandemic. Researchers throughout the world are using different AI models on their respective platforms to fight it.

For example, researchers in California are bound to develop an early warning system based on AI by examining data over the internet to check about possible warnings and their validity.

Elizabeth Ondula, a doctoral student in computer science at USC, is working on a system that can help administrators leverage AI to prepare for the possibility of an outbreak. Her research helps understand the impact of various policies on the people, which will help minimize the risk of serious illness or death by integrating stochastic epidemic models with reinforcement learning.

Also, pharmaceutical giants like AstraZeneca are using AI models to help speed up the discovery of new antibodies that will help human bodies to develop an immune system against viruses, thus leading to the creation of new vaccines.

Dr. Philip AbdelMalik, WHO’s unit head of intelligence, affirms that AI can be used as a tool for early detection of symptoms using quick diagnostic material based on AI and also stop people from resorting to potentially dangerous treatment, alleged online.

Finally, the AI in coming days may be a boon to the people, especially when it comes to medical science. Let’s welcome the AI with warm hands in order to embrace future challenges with competent control systems.
