US boosts Ukraine’s war capabilities with fresh munitions package

The United States has freshly provided Ukraine with another munitions package valued at $270 million for its ongoing war with Russia.

Praising the ‘bravery’ and ‘valor’ of Ukrainian forces, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin compared Russia’s ‘relentless shelling’ with the ‘horrors of World War I.’

More Firepower

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Ukraine needed more firepower to withstand the barrage and strike back at Russia.

The latest package includes four additional High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and the ammunition needed for those systems.

The US is also providing 580 Phoenix Ghost Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems to Ukraine as a part of the new package.

Additionally, four Command Post Vehicles, 36,000 rounds of 105mm ammunition, anti-armor weapons, and spare parts are included.

US rallies diplomatic support to isolate Russia

The US, which has provided the most weapons to Ukraine for its ongoing war with Russia, has also been rallying diplomatic support.

In the last 48 hours, UK Defense Director Paul Wyatt visited the Pentagon, and French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu spoke to Secretary Austin over the phone.

Secretary Austin thanked Germany for providing MARS II MLRS systems and training for Ukrainian forces.
