Russian envoy to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, told the Security Council that the airstrikes against Ukraine did not target civilians.
The Russian envoy said that the Ukrainian air defense systems could be responsible for the damage in residential areas.
He said that Russia’s precision strikes are aimed at disrupting the supply of weapons by the west.
Mr. Vassily Nebenzia accused NATO of waging a proxy war by delivering weapons and supplies to Ukraine and prolonging the conflict.
What did the US say?
US envoy Linda Thomas-Greenfield accused Russia of weaponizing winter by targeting Ukraine’s infrastructure.
She said the US would continue to help Ukraine in defending its sovereignty.
