A gunman killed three people at the Las Vegas campus of the University of Nevada on December 6, 2023.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said that another victim is hospitalized and is in critical condition.
The shots were first reported at around 11.45 AM, and within the next ten minutes, the University put out an emergency notice and advised evacuation. By 12.30 PM, the gunman was killed in a shootout with the campus police.
The unnamed shooter was described as a 67-year-old ex-professor who taught in North Carolina. The motive of the gunman is under investigation.
While the authorities have said there is no active threat, the campus will remain closed until December 10.
