Mumbai-based actress Kadambari Jethwani alleged that the Andhra Pradesh police have fabricated a case against her after she filed a case in Maharashtra against an Industrialist for harassment.

The investigation

Several issues were flagged against the IPS officers during the investigation. One of them was that the police had booked tickets to Mumbai to arrest the actress even before an actual FIR was filed against her in Andhra Pradesh, indicating that her arrest was planned outside the legal procedure.

It is also alleged that the case against her was built based on forged documents.

Ms. Jethwani was also reportedly held without women police officers in attendance.

IPS Vishal Gunni, a DCP at the time, personally went to Mumbai to ensure the arrest of the actress, which was deemed unusual in a cheating case that was booked against her.

A Circle Inspector and an Assistant Commissioner of Police have already been suspended in the case.
