Telangana government has introduced a plan to provide nutrition kits to pregnant women from Dec 21, 2022. The program comes into effect in nine districts where anemia is prevalent.
Pregnant women from Adilabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Jogulamba Gadwal, Kamareddy, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool, and Vikarabad, will start receiving the kits which contain dates, ghee, nutritional powder, iron syrup, and other medication.
The new plan will complement the existing scheme of providing ‘KCR kits’ to women after delivering a baby at a government hospital.
Apart from the financial assistance of Rs. 12,000, a ‘KCR Kit’ consists of baby oil, soaps, a mosquito net, clothing, a handbag, toys, diapers, powder, shampoo, sarees, a towel and napkins, and a baby bed.
