India scored a much-needed convincing victory against Scotland on November 5 to keep their chances alive in the tournament.
Scottish batsmen struggled against the Indian bowling and scored 85 runs in 17.4 overs (106 balls). George Munsey 24 (19) and Michael Leask 21 (12) contributed to the score.
Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each.
K.L. Rahul 50 (19) and Rohit Sharma 30 (16) paved the way for an easy victory. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav finished off the formalities with 13.3 overs remaining in the match.
The easy victory pushed India’s net run rate to 1.619, ahead of Afghanistan and New Zealand.
