The Supertech Twin Towers in Noida, as tall as 100 meters, are set to be taken down on August 28, 2022, for violating agreements, building regulations, and other norms.
The irregularities in the construction of the towers were brought to light by the resident associations affected by the construction of the twin towers, and the Supreme Court gave the demolition verdict.
Nearly four tonnes of explosives will demolish the 32-floor Apex and 29-floor Ceyane towers.
The demolition, set for 2.30 PM on Sunday, will reportedly be completed in 12 seconds.
Neighboring buildings are covered up to prevent damage from rubble and dust, and the residents are asked to leave during the process. The city authorities will monitor air quality with equipment set up in six places around the towers.
A distance of half a kilometer around the towers is marked as an exclusion zone.
Hundreds of police personnel, ambulances, and fire trucks are being deployed.
