Russia warns NATO against supplying Patriot missiles to Ukraine

Russia’s Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, warned NATO that if they supplied Ukraine with Patriot defense systems and personnel, they would become Russia’s legitimate targets.

The tweet by Mr. Medvedev, who served as Russia’s President and Prime Minister, also referred to NATO powers as ‘North Atlantic Impotents.’

The war of words between Ukraine and Russia has been as hostile as the situation on the ground. The European Parliament has recently branded Russia a state sponsor of terrorism.

While HIMARS, IRIS-T, and other defense systems have already been provided to Ukraine by the US, Germany, and allies, Russia has so far refrained from directly warning the suppliers.

Mr. Medvedev’s response comes shortly after NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting, which reiterated its support for Ukraine.
