NRI community in the bay area showed off their love for the Indian culture on the festive eve of Sankranthi. The Indian community in the region elevated an artificial set reminiscent of a rural household in India.
The hut with a thatched roof, enhanced by accompanying ‘Muggulu’ (Rangoli), was an impressive setup at the Baba temple.

Agricultural tools such as plows were placed nearby to remind that Sankranthi is a festival that also celebrates the harvest.

‘Bhogi Mantalu’ (bonfire) caught the attention of children, and a few other traditions that typically accompany Sankranthi were seen portrayed as beautiful paintings.

Native dishes such as ‘Pulihora’ added further ‘flavor’ to the festivities.

Participants in the festivities wore traditional clothing to suit the ambience and mark the festival with reverence.
