A mild earthquake was felt early in the morning, starting from 2.37 AM onwards in several parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Few residents of Hyderabad have said that the tremors were strong enough to wake them up. There was no damage reported.
Tremors were also noticeable to residents of Krishna, Guntur, Khammam, Suryapet, and Nalgonda districts. The epicenter of the quake is believed to be somewhere between Guntur and Suryapet near Vellatur, at a depth of 10 km.
The proximity of the Earthquake’s epicenter to Pulichinthala project had authorities rushing to check the project for possible damage. None was reported.
The National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) recorded the magnitude of the earthquake to be 4.6 on the Richter scale.
