Kesineni Sivanath, Vijayawada MP and the president of the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), has announced that the construction of the cricket stadium in Mangalagiri will be completed within the next year, and international cricket matches will be hosted at the venue.

The stadium, which has been in the planning and construction phase for over a decade, has seen its share of delays due to funding issues and changes in state government.

The Stadium

The stadium, with a seating capacity of approximately 35,000, is designed to be a state-of-the-art facility. It’s part of a broader vision to develop cricket infrastructure across the state, with the ACA aiming to improve cricket standards in all districts.

The development comes at a time when cricket infrastructure in India is seeing significant investments, aiming at decentralizing major cricket events from traditional venues like Mumbai and Delhi to other parts of the country, thereby promoting cricket at the grassroots level.

As the Mangalagiri International Cricket Stadium edges closer to its completion, all eyes are on the ACA and the state government to ensure that this project, which has been a long time coming, finally delivers on its promise to bring international cricket to the heart of Andhra Pradesh.
