Former Minister Nara Lokesh has rejected the charges made by the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department in the alleged Inner Ring Road Scam. He said he would continue his Yuva Galam walkathon from Sep 29, 2023.

The CID alleged that Mr. Lokesh’s family-owned Heritage Foods Ltd had purchased lands in collusion with Industrialist Lingamaneni Ramesh and then changed the alignment of the Inner Ring Road so the new road would pass next to their land.

Refuting the charges, Nara Lokesh said that the Inner Ring Road has not even materialized, and the corruption charges also had nothing to do with the portfolio that he held as a Minister. He said the charges were being made to stop him from resuming his walkathon ‘Yuva Galam.’

The case was registered based on a complaint by YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy.
