Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) denied allegations of phone tapping made by several leaders of the Telangana Congress.
The allegations, which have been circulating in the media and political circles, accuse former minister KTR and his party of tapping the phones of Congress leaders and celebrities during the previous BRS government led by Mr. K Chandrashekar Rao for political intimidation and surveillance.
Mr. KT Rama Rao called the allegations baseless and served legal notices to Congress leaders Konda Surekha, Yennam Srinivas Reddy, and KK Mahender Reddy for making what he described as “false and slanderous statements” that he is involved in the alleged phone tapping issue.
The BRS leader also threatened legal action against media outlets that reported the statements made by the Congress leaders without verifying the facts.
KTR stated that “maybe the phones of one or two may have been tapped,” but he did not know the specifics.
KTR said the allegations were part of a larger effort by the Congress government to divert attention from its failure to fulfill its pre-election promises. He asked the government to focus on ‘water tap’ to ensure water supply to the public instead of alleging ‘phone tapping.’
