India registers 26,115 new cases of COVID-19

India reported 26,115 new cases of the coronavirus on September 21.

The nation’s active cases are now at 3,09,575, translating to .92 percent of the total cases recorded so far.

Kerala accounted for more than half of the active cases with a caseload of 1,67,578.

Around 97.75 percent of those infected are cured or discharged.

The virus claimed 252 lives overnight, 92 of them from Kerala and 28 from Maharashtra.

The total number of those who succumbed to the virus has gone up to 4,45,385, translating to about 1.33 percent of those affected.

Aaditya Thackeray holds meeting

Maharashtra Tourism and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray held discussions with District Collector Nidhi Chaudhary G, AMC Kakani G and the DMCs of Mumbai on COVID-readiness. The Minister discussed vaccinations and also citizen participating in fighting the virus, as the state goes through festive season.
