India ranks 4th at the International Math Olympiad

India secured the 4th position at the International Math Olympiad, which was held from July 11 to 22 in the United Kingdom. The ranking is up five places from 2023 and is the best performance by an Indian contingent in the prestigious competition.

The Indian Team

The Indian contingent constituted Adhitya Mangudy, Ananda Bhaduri, Kanav Talwar, Rushil Mathur, Arjun Gupta, and Siddharth Choppara.

US clinches the title

The United States, which secured second place in 2023, emerged as the winner this year. Krishna Pothapragada, of Indian origin, is a member of the team that clinched the 65th International Math Olympiad.

China and South Korea took the 2nd and 3rd spots. India trailed South Korea by just one point.

Around 100 countries from five continents have participated in this year’s tournament.

China and Russia have won most of the competitions so far.

PM Modi called the Indian team’s performance inspirational.
