As Hyderabad gets ready to host the Formula E World Championship on February 10 and 11, 2023, the circuit was put to the test by an IRL (Indian Racing League) race on November 19 and 20, 2022.
Single-seater electric cars fit with Aprilia engines competed on the newly built track on the banks of Hussain Sagar.
The event is one of many that the state government plans to hold ahead of the World Championship.
Formula E World Championship
A total of 22 cars from 11 teams will compete in the megaevent on February 2023.
The Hyderabad Street Circuit, which was initially planned to have been a 2.37 km long track, will be 2.7 km long with 17 turns.
The government hopes the event will promote discussions on electric vehicles and the state’s role in their manufacturing.
