Hyderabad Metro will now reach areas like RTC cross roads, Narayanaguda, Chikkadpally and Gandhi Hospital.
With Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao waving off the train, L&T Metro Rail started operating between Jubilee Bus Station in Secunderabad to Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station in Gowliguda, thus making the Corridor 2, also known as the ‘Green Line’ functional.
This greatly enhances the connectivity to those who are unable to cope with the congested roads in Hyderabad.
Areas covered by the new Green line can be seen in the map below.
However, Corridor II is not quite wholly operational, given that the train goes only as far as MGBS. As can be seen from the map above, Salarjung Museum, Charminar, Shalibanda, Shamshergunj, and Falaknuma are all the stations that are yet to be connected.
Corridor I (Miyapur to L.B.Nagar) and Corridor III (Shilparamam to Nagole) are already functional.
