India’s quick response to the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, Operation Dost, reflects the preparedness of the country’s rescue and relief teams, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
The Prime Minister interacted with the personnel involved in Operation Dost.
Saying ‘Humanity First,’ PM Modi said the tri-color flag had become an assurance that the Indian teams had arrived and the situation would improve.
Operation Dost
India’s assistance, termed ‘Operation Dost,’ consisted of a 99-member self-contained team who had set up a 30-bed field hospital in Iskenderun, Hatay.
Working around the clock, the fully equipped hospital treated around 4000 patients, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
