Heavy rains lashed Hyderabad, Telangana, on Saturday, leading to water-clogged streets and traffic jams, prompting the Hyderabad Traffic Police to urge the public to postpone their journeys by at least an hour, even after the cessation of the rain.
Meanwhile, the IMD has predicted a rainy week ahead for the city.
The Telangana government requested financial assistance of Rs 1,000 crore from the central government to compensate for the losses owing to floods in several districts.
