According to Forbes Magazine, Indian Business Tycoon Gautam Adani has overtaken Microsoft founder Bill Gates to become the fourth richest person in the world.
While Mr. Gates was comfortably ahead of Mr. Adani, his latest contribution of $20 billion to the ‘Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’ set his personal wealth back by the same amount.
Mr. Adani’s current wealth of $115.7 billion overshadows Mr. Gates’s $104.6 billion fortune. Forbes points out that Adani is now India’s biggest Airport operator following the stake acquisition in Mumbai Airport and notes his presence in infrastructure, power, and other sectors.
Reliance boss Mukesh Ambani is currently ranked 9th on the list with a wealth of $90.6 billion.
Who is ahead of Adani?
Tesla and Space X boss Elon Musk is the richest person in the world with a wealth of $254.2 billion, followed by Bernard Arnault of Louis Vuitton ($156.5 billion) and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (148.2 billion).
