Reigning champions France, leading the points table across all groups, are through to the round of 16 at the World Cup.
In Group D, France beat Australia 4-1 on November 22 and Denmark 2-1 on the 26th, securing 3 points from each win.
France is the only team in any group that has scored 6 points.
Of course, teams such as Brazil (Group G) and Portugal (Group H) have played only one match each and could equal France’s score by winning their next game.
Having played two matches – the Netherlands and Ecuador in Group A, England in Group B, Poland in Group C, Spain in Group E, and Croatia and Morocco in Group F scored four points each.
Les Bleus (France) will play Tunisia on November 30. Tunisia will need a victory (given Australia vs Denmark ends in a tie) to have a shot at marching ahead to the round of 16.
