Mr. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for the upcoming Presidential election late this year, was speaking at a campaign rally near Butler, Pennsylvania, when a bullet whizzed past his head, injuring his ear.

The firing killed one attendee and critically injured two. The shooter was shot immediately afterward by the Secret Service agents.

The 45th President of the US was surrounded and taken away from the location. Before leaving the podium, Mr. Trump repeatedly chanted ‘Fight’ addressing the rally.

The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, is said to have used an AR-15 rifle. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has joined forces with the Secret Service to investigate.

President Joe Biden condemned the attack, saying that violence has no place in politics, and the White House has said that Mr. Biden spoke to Mr. Trump following the shooting incident.

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the attack on Twitter and said the nation’s prayers are with the families of the deceased and injured.
