Former MP Simranjit Singh Mann of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) said that BJP MP Kangana Ranaut is experienced in rapes leading to a controversy.

Mr. Mann was responding to Ranaut’s comments on the farmers’ protest, where she suggested that the agitation could have led to a situation similar to that in Bangladesh, involving allegations of severe law and order issues, including rapes.

He stated, “I don’t want to say this, but (Kangana) Ranaut has a lot of experience of rape, and you can ask her how rape happens so that people can be explained how rape happens.”

Kangana Ranaut, known for her outspoken views, did not hesitate to respond to Mann’s derogatory remarks. Taking to social media, she expressed her outrage, stating, “It seems this country will never stop trivializing rape; today, this senior politician compared getting raped to riding a bicycle.”

Mr. Mann’s comments led to a broader debate on respect, dignity, and the limits of political discourse. His comments drew immediate backlash on social media platforms and from various quarters.

The Haryana State Women Commission issued a notice to Mann, demanding an apology within five days, indicating that legal actions might follow if the issue isn’t addressed appropriately.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut’s comments on the farmers’ protest, where she alleged that “rapes were taking place” during the agitation, had also drawn criticism and a directive from her own party, BJP, to refrain from making such statements.
