This circuit, which took shape under the guidance of Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL) in collaboration with the Tamil Nadu government, not only promised high-speed thrills but also showcased the city’s breathtaking beauty under the night sky.

The event commenced with much anticipation, with free practice and qualifying sessions setting the stage for the mainraces.

The Indian Racing Festival included two major championships: the Indian Racing League and the FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship (F4IC), bringing together local and international talent.

Notably, the F4IC saw participation from teams like Ahmedabad Apex Racers and Godspeed Kochi, which gave the races a competitive edge.

Hugh Barter emerged as the first winner of the Formula 4 race, securing a lights-to-flag victory that showcased his skill and etched his name in the history of Chennai’s motorsport. Despite a minor delay due to an unforeseen incident involving a canine on the track, the event was a memorable performance, highlighting the city’s ability to host world-class racing events.

The Chennai street race wasn’t just about speed; it was a cultural phenomenon. Actor Naga Chaitanya, present at the event, stated, “It has been a great experience, and I never dreamt that something like this would happen in Chennai.”

This event’s success has put Chennai on the global motorsport map and inspired a new wave of interest among the youth. The Tamil Nadu government’s support, evident through its investment and logistical backing, underscored a commitment to elevating Chennai’s status in the international racing community.
