Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, agreed to list Chandrababu Naidu’s Quash Petition on Oct 3, 2023.

The three-time Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, was arrested in relation to the alleged ‘Skill Development Project Scam.’ The CID alleges that Mr. Naidu had diverted project funds to offshore shell companies but has not named the beneficiaries of the funds.

The petition filed by the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was originally listed before Justices Sanjiv Khanna and SVN Bhatti for Sep 27. However, Justice Bhatti recused himself from hearing the case.

The TDP Chief’s advocate, Siddharth Luthra, then mentioned the matter to Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, who set a date one week away.

The Chief Justice refused to restrain the ACB Judge from hearing the CID’s Custody Petition.
