The Bihar government has transferred 62 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the state, with changes affecting key positions, including district superintendents of police (SPs) and senior leadership roles.

The major reshuffle announced on December 28, 2024, includes district-level changes, with several officers moving from one district to another and elevating officers to higher ranks.

Among the notable changes, IPS officer Avkash Kumar has been appointed as the new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Patna, replacing Rajiv Mishra, who has been promoted to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).

Kundan Krishnan, who was previously the Additional Director General (ADG) of Police (Headquarters), has been entrusted with additional responsibilities in the Special Task Force (STF).

Amrit Raj has transitioned from ADG (Operations) STF to ADG (Security), Patna, reflecting a shift in focus towards security protocols and preventive policing.

Amit Kumar Jain has been designated ADG (Weaker Sections), Crime Investigation Department, Patna.

This reshuffle comes when Bihar addresses various administrative challenges and the ongoing issues of crime and corruption.

The movie triggered speculation on social media, where users have noted this could be a precursor to more significant political maneuvers in the state.
