The cruise drugs case, made famous by the arrest of Super Star Shah Rukh’s Khan son Aryan Khan’s arrest doesn’t cease to hog the limelight.
Maharashtra Minister and NCP Leader Nawak Malik has released new pictures of what he claims to be the Nikah Nama of NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede.
Another picture shows Mr. Wankhede signing that Nikah Nama.
Bombay High Court has refused to restrain Mr. Malik from posting such pictures. Mr. Malik’s point is that Mr. Wankhede misrepresented his identity and he should not have got his IRS job in the first place.

Aryan Khan’s friend, co-accused in the Cruise Drugs Case, Arbaaz Merchant, has made his weekly appearance before the NCB.

Bollywood Megastar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan had appeared before the NCB as per the bail conditions. He is to appear before the NCB every Friday between 11 AM and 2 PM.
The case has taken a political turn already, with NCP leader Nawab Malik accusing BJP of conspiracy, and BJP leader, Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, issuing a rebuttal.
Also, Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede had stepped aside from Aryan Khan’s case after allegations of extortion. NCB Deputy Director-Generals Gyaneshwar Singh and Sanjay Singh are probing the drugs case.
Mr. Gyaneshwar Singh will focus on the extortion allegations, while Mr. Sanjay Singh will investigate the drugs bust on Cordelia Cruiseship.
November 9 – Devendra Fadnavis alleges links between Nawab Malik and ‘Underworld Criminals’
Maharashtra’s former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis came down heavily on Minister Nawab Malik on November 9 for his alleged links with the ‘Killers of Mumbai.’
Mr. Fadvanis alleged that NCP leader Malik had purchased 3 acres of land at Goa Wala Compound, LBS road in East Mumbai for a meagre amount – from Sardar Shavali Khan, a convict in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case and published the sale document on Twitter.
The purchaser shown in the document produced by Mr. Fadnavis, a company called Solidus Investments, belongs to Minister Nawab Malik.
The person holding the Power of Attorney, and executing the deal on behalf of the seller, was Mr. Mohammed Salim Ishaq Patel, known for links with Ms. Haseena Parkar, sister of Underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim.
November 8 – NCB Deputy Director-General Gyaneshwar Singh arrives in Mumbai
NCB Deputy Director-General Gyaneshwar Singh has arrived in Mumbai. While another Deputy DG Sanjay Kumar Singh is investigating around six drugs cases including those related to Aryan Khan and Sameer Khan (Son-in-law of Minister Nawab Malik), Mr. Gyaneshwar Singh will investigate the extortion allegations against the NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede.
November 6 – Sanjay Kumar Singh arrives in Mumbai
The 1996 batch IPS Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh has arrived in Mumbai.
As Sameer Wankhede, the NCB Zonal Director, chose to step aside from the Cruise Drugs Case investigation amidst charges of extortion, Mr. Sanjay Singh has come into the picture. He will lead a Special Investigation team to oversee six cases. One of those is the Cruise Drugs Case involving Aryan Khan, and another case involves Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik’s son-in-law Sameer Khan.
Sanjay Singh, a Deputy Director General at the Narcotics Control Bureau, comes with considerable experience in dealing with drug trafficking, as one of his prior postings was with Drugs Task Force in Odisha. He had also worked with the Central Bureau of Investigation.
November 5 – Sameer Wankhede not to supervise the Cruise Drugs Case
While Sameer Wankhede remains the Zonal Director of the NCB in Mumbai, he will no longer supervise the investigations related to Aryan Khan (Cruise Drugs Case) or Sameer Khan (Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik’s son-in-law Sameer Khan.

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has attended the NCB investigation. As per his bail terms, he has to visit the NCB office every Friday between 11 AM and 2 PM.

Aryan Khan’s bail order is out. He has to submit a personal bond of one lakh rupees.
Aryan is not to leave the country without permission, and he is to submit his passport.

Aryan must also not try to influence any of the witnesses. He should refrain from meeting any of the co-accused.

Aryan Khan, who was away from his home ‘Mannat’ since October 3, has been granted bail. He was in NCB custody for five days and then in Arthur Road Jail for 20 days.
Aryan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha were granted bail, and the defense team awaits the copy of the order before filing paperwork to take them from Arthur Road Jail.

Mumbai Police appointed a team to probe into the extortion allegations against the Zonal Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Sameer Wankhede.
The four-member team is constituted based on complaints from Prabhakar Sail and three others. Prabhakar Sail is a Panch Witness (Witness from the Panchnama) in the Drugs case.

K.P. Gosavi, an independent witness in the case, is arrested by the Pune Police in relation to a cheating case from 2018.

NCP leader and Maharashtra Cabinet Minister, Nawab Malik, has tweeted what he says is a picture of NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede’s first wedding. The tweet that the Minister had ‘pinned’ on his profile refers to Mr. Wankhede as ‘Sameer Dawood Wankhede.’
Mr. Malik alleges that Mr. Wankhede had changed his religion and is therefore ineligible to claim caste-based benefits. To put it simply, the Minister is claiming that Mr. Wankhede should not have gotten an IRS job in the first place.

October 26 – Allegations against Sameer Wankhede baseless
The NCB Zonal Director’s wife, Kranti Redkar, defended her husband.
She challenged any accusers of Mr. Wankhede to present proof and asked them not to make baseless allegations based on random documents posted on the internet.
October 26 – K Gosavi in spotlight after pics go viral; Conspiracy alleged
Meanwhile, pictures of witness Kiran Gosavi with Aryan Khan have gone viral, with several asking how it was possible for a civilian to approach Aryan Khan, who was in NCB’s custody.
Also, Prabhakar Sail, who claims to have been Kiran Gosavi’s bodyguard, has alleged that he overheard Gosavi’s phone calls suggesting pay-offs and settlement. He recorded a video and prepared an affidavit to this effect. The Mumbai police have given him protection for the time being.
The NCB questioned how this affidavit of Prabhakar Sail is widely circulated in the media without being filed in any court.
The agency further pointed out that the mention of Shah Rukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani in the said affidavit suggests that she is ‘influencing’ the panch witness (Witness from the Panchnama).

Officers from the Narcotics Control Bureau paid a visit to Shah Rukh Khan’s house on October 21. According to sources, it is a procedural visit to collect some documents related to Aryan Khan.

Lawyer Satish Maneshinde has said that the ASG (Assistant Solicitor General ) would be ready by Tuesday (October 26), and the bail hearing would be heard that day by the High Court.

According to sources, the Court has based its judgment on the ‘digital evidence’ put forward by the prosecution.
The prosecution had argued that Aryan Khan’s chat history suggested an international link and also a conspiracy.
The bail petition in the High Court could be heard as early as tomorrow.
October 20 Afternoon Update
Aryan Khan’s Bail Plea is rejected.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Manager Pooja Dadlani and Defense Lawyer Satish Maneshinde have left the Sessions Court.
Shortly after the verdict, Aryan’s Lawyer Amit Desai was questioned on why the bail was rejected. He said he had not received the order copy yet.
A bit earlier, Shah Rukh Khan’s Manager Pooja Dadlani and bodyguard Ravi reached the Sessions Court.

Court orders are expected today with regards to Aryan Khan’s Bail Petition.

October 9 – NCB hits back at the charges of bias
NCB refutes the charges of bias
Charges against the Narcotics Control Bureau are baseless and motivated, said Gyaneshwar Singh, the Deputy Director-General of the drug law enforcement agency, speaking to the press.
NCP Minister in Maharashtra’s coalition government, Nawab Malik, had earlier questioned why Manish Bhanushali, a member of the BJP, and a Private Detective Kiran Gosavi, were present during the raid on the Cordelia cruise ship and accused the NCB drug raid of having been orchestrated.
Mr. Kosavi and Mr. Bhanushali were not known to the NCB before the raid, the agency said.
The agency had acted on specific information, and since the operations are conducted in real-time, it was not possible to verify the independent witnesses at hand, Mr. Singh said, further clarifying that the presence of independent witnesses was a legal requirement.
The agency asserted that it had taken an unbiased and professional approach in tackling the drug menace in the country.
Panchnamas are made on respective spots, the NCB officers said, adding that they will be part of the charge sheets in the future and will be open for legal scrutiny.
Fourteen people were served notice under section 67 of the NDPS act and brought to the office, and eight people were arrested, the NCB Deputy DG said.
The follow-up operations resulted in ten more arrests, taking the total to 18, he said.

Aryan Khan’s mother, Gauri Khan, visibly distressed, arrived at the NCB office to meet her son.
October 7 8.30 PM – Aryan leaves the court to go to the NCB Office
Aryan Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde and the Special Public Prosecutor Advait Sethna presented their arguments and counter-arguments before the Magistrate at the Killa court on October 7.
The Prosecution submitted to the Esplanade court that more arrests are possible, and the newly arrested would need to be confronted with those already accused, and asked for their custody until October 11.
However, the Magistrate gave Aryan judicial custody of 14 days.
Defending Aryan, Lawyer Maneshinde submitted that the NCB did not have Aryan face Achit Kumar for the last two days; Achit being the one accused of supplying drugs.
The bail plea will be heard at the sessions court tomorrow morning.
Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and six others will spend the night at the NCB office because they do not have a COVID test report that would have been required by the jail.

October 7 1 PM – Aryan, along with other accused, heads to the Court
Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, arrested on four sections under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, will be presented before the court on Thursday, October 7, as the court-given custody comes to a close.
The lawyer representing Aryan, Satish Maneshinde, who says that his client was merely invited to the ship and did not possess any narcotics on his person, will present counter-arguments and seek bail.
The authorities had initially asked for custody of the accused until October 11, so it remains to be seen what they submit to the court today.
Officials have said that they seized 13 grams of cocaine, 5 grams of Mephedrone, 21 grams of charas, 22 pills of Ecstasy, and Rs. 1.33 lakh in cash.
The mobile phones of Aryan Khan and the other accused are sent to Gandhi Nagar for digital forensics. A good part of the case is reportedly based on conversations held by Aryan and other accused.
Cryptocurrency payments for drugs procurement are also being investigated.
Political turn
NCP leader and a Minister from the coalition government in Maharashtra, Nawab Malik, said that Shah Rukh Khan was targeted and gave a political turn to an already high-profile case.
How did Aryan get arrested?
Aryan Khan, along with others, was initially detained on Saturday night, October 2, after the Narcotics Control Bureau raided a Goa-bound cruise ship off the coast of Mumbai.
The NCB, after questioning the detainees, later arrested Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha on Sunday, October 3, and produced them before a special holiday court.
More investigation followed, and the Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested 16 people so far in connection with the case. Four accused from an event management company are already sent to custody until October 14.
Aryan Khan
Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, born on November 13, 1997, is 23 years old and studied filmmaking in the US.
He had earlier voiced for characters in the Hindi-dubbed Hollywood movies such as ‘The Incredibles.’
He won a state championship in Taekwando.
While it is fairly normal in Bollywood for star kids to take up acting, Aryan has shown no inclination towards an on-screen career so far.
