Nara Lokesh, the National General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has received an urgent security alert from Apple, raising concerns over potential threats to his privacy and security. The development comes in the wake of heightened security measures for Lokesh, including the recent upgrade to ‘Z’ category security by the Union Home Ministry.

The alert from Apple was reportedly sent to Lokesh as part of a broader notification to users in India and 91 other countries following a query from the Indian government’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) on April 10, 2024. The CERT-In sought information from Apple regarding any new vulnerabilities found in its products, prompting the tech giant to send notifications to potentially affected users.

The incident has yet again raised the issue of cybersecurity and the potential risks faced by public figures and other individuals. While the specifics of the alert received by Nara Lokesh have not been disclosed, the fact that it coincides with the CERT-In’s inquiry suggests that it may be related to concerns over digital surveillance and potential spyware attacks.

In response to the security alert, the TDP has reportedly written to the Election Commission of India (ECI), expressing its concern over the situation and requesting intervention to ensure the safety and security of Lokesh. The party has also requested that the ECI take appropriate measures to prevent any potential breaches of privacy and security.
