Puneeth Rajkumar, the 45-year-old popular actor from Kannada Cinema, has breathed his last on October 29.
The actor reported chest pain and was first taken to his physician, where an ECG was taken. He was then rushed to the Vikram Hospital, where the doctors pronounced him unresponsive upon arrival. The actor died of Cardiac Arrest.
Puneeth Rajkumar, a versatile artist, dubbed ‘Power Star’ by his fans, was the son of legendary Kannada actor Rajkumar. He was also fondly called ‘Appu’ based on one of his films.
He acted in nearly 50 movies.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced that the last rites of the actor would be performed with state honors on Saturday.
Only hours before his demise, Puneeth Rajkumar tweeted his wishes to the team of ‘Bhajarangi 2.’
Prime Minister Modi, who is in Rome attending a G20 Summit, termed the death a cruel game of fate and extended his condolences to the actor’s family.
