Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to AIIMS earlier in the night, around 8.45 PM May 10, after he complained of uneasiness in the chest. Dr. Singh is currently being attended to in a private room at the cardiothoracic wing of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
Currently a member of Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan, Dr. Manmohan Singh served as India’s Prime Minister from 2004 to 2014.

Dr. Manmohan Singh shared his advise on handling the coronavirus situation also on April 26, when he had called for a better strategy on the movement of migrants between states.
Dr. Singh is credited for his role in liberalising India’s economy alongside the then Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao.
P.V. Narasimha Rao surprised the political circles and Dr. Manmohan Singh alike in 1991, when he chose the apolitical economist, who was then the Chairman of the University Grants Commission, to be his Finance Minister.
Prior to being chosen as the Finance Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh served as the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission and the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
Leaders across the political spectrum wished the former Prime Minister a speedy recovery.
