Telangana Congress stages ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan’ rally, while BRS protests Congress rule

Telangana’s Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other Congress party leaders led the ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan’ rally in Hyderabad today to address allegations of ties between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and business tycoon Gautam Adani.

The march started from the Indira Gandhi Statue at Necklace Road and was marked by slogans like ‘Modi Adani Bhai Bhai,’ suggesting a close relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr. Adani.

The rally aimed to protest against what Congress leaders describe as financial irregularities and corruption linked to Mr. Adani’s enterprises, which they claim are being shielded by the BJP-led central government.

Participants in the rally, including ministers and members of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), walked to Raj Bhavan. However, the event concluded without any formal representations to the Governor.

The ‘Chalo Raj Bhavan’ rally reflects the ongoing national debate over corporate-political ties, particularly those involving the Adani Group, which has faced scrutiny over its rapid expansion and alleged favoritism by the central government.

Critics argue that such relationships undermine fair economic practice, while supporters of the BJP refute these claims, pointing to economic growth and job creation.

The protest also ran parallel to other political activities in the state, with BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) leaders simultaneously organizing protests for different causes, highlighting the diverse issues facing Telangana’s public.

Notably, BRS MLAs, including KT Rama Rao (KTR), protested at the Assembly for support for auto drivers, showcasing the multifaceted nature of political activism in the region.
