The event that drew thousands of people was not just a political rally but a cultural statement that fused politics with deep-rooted spiritual values.

Mr. Kalyan, known for his dramatic flair on and off the screen, unveiled the ‘Varahi Declaration,’ a set of demands to safeguard Sanatana Dharma.

He called for legislative action, urging the establishment of a national and state-level ‘Sanatana Dharma Protection Board.’ As outlined in his vision, this board would oversee the implementation of laws designed to protect the ethos and sanctity of Sanatana Dharma against any form of defamation or cultural erosion.

Why is Pawan Kalyan calling for the preservation of Sanatana Dharma?

The backdrop to this speech was the controversy surrounding the purity of offerings at religious sites, particularly the alleged adulteration of the sacred Tirupati Laddu.

Pawan Kalyan took a strong stance against such practices, advocating for ‘Sanatana Dharma Certification’ to ensure authenticity and purity in religious offerings. This move is to see beyond the current issues and to set a precedent for preserving the sanctity of religious practices across India.

In his speech, Mr. Kalyan did not shy away from political critique, referencing the YSRCP’s electoral defeat as a public verdict against those who fail to respect cultural sanctity. ‘The people have spoken, and they demand respect for our traditions,’ he declared, drawing cheers from the crowd. His narrative wove through themes of cultural identity, governance, and spiritual integrity, painting a picture of a leader deeply entwined with cultural preservation.
