The Telangana government is set to host the “Global AI Summit 2024” at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) on September 5-6.

The summit, themed “Making AI Work for Everyone,” aims to delve into the transformative potential of AI across various sectors, from governance to industry.

The event is expected to draw over 2,500 delegates, including Sal Khan from Khan Academy, Daniela Combe from IBM, and Peter Diamandis from the XPRIZE Foundation, highlighting the summit’s global appeal and its focus on innovation and education through AI.

The discussions will explore AI’s role in driving paradigm shifts, ensuring safe AI practices, and its potential for social good.

The AI City Project

A highlight of the summit will be the unveiling of the AI City project by the Telangana government. This ambitious initiative involves developing a 200-acre area near Hyderabad into a hub for AI innovation.

The AI City is envisioned as a center for global tech companies and a place where local talent can thrive, fostering collaborations that could lead to groundbreaking AI solutions.

Moreover, the event will discuss the development of the AI City through a public-private partnership (PPP) model, aiming to attract investments not just for infrastructure but also for creating an AI school of excellence for skilling and education.

Telangana’s AI Compendium

The summit will also launch “Telangana’s AI Compendium,” a collection that aims to document and share the state’s journey and achievements in AI. This compendium will serve as a resource for researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders.

Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “The Global AI Summit 2024 is a pivotal moment for Telangana. It showcases our commitment to innovation and positions Telangana at the forefront of the global AI landscape.”
