Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) leader Kamal Haasan rallied support for the Marxist Communist Party (MCP) candidate Su Venkatesan, who is contesting from the Madurai Parliamentary Constituency.
Speaking in Anaiyur, Mr. Haasan highlighted his party’s support for Venkatesan and said Mr. Venkatesan is committed to serving the people of Madurai.
Kamal Haasan lauded the late former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for his contributions to Madurai, including making it a municipal corporation and inaugurating the Madurai High Court branch.
The MNM leader also acknowledged the efforts of current Chief Minister MK Stalin, citing various welfare schemes implemented by his government for the betterment of Madurai and Tamil Nadu as a whole.
The actor-turned-politician also expressed his admiration for Udayanidhi Stalin, son of MK Stalin and grandson of M. Karunanidhi, for his efforts to promote sports in the state.
Mr. Haasan emphasized the importance of preserving the Tamil culture.
Kamal Haasan’s support for Venkatesan represents the MNM’s commitment to collaborating with like-minded parties to strengthen their position in the upcoming elections.
