India calls for a peaceful resolution to Russia-Ukraine war

Mr. Kuleba met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss a host of issues, including the ongoing conflict with Russia and its wider ramifications.

India has maintained a non-aligned approach to the war, seeking to balance its relationships with the West and Russia. New Delhi has consistently called for a peaceful resolution and expressed willingness to contribute to peace efforts.

The Ukrainian delegation also engaged with Indian think tanks and gave a talk on “Russia’s War in Ukraine: Why the World Should Care.” The event highlighted the conflict’s global impact on supply chains and international trade, particularly for the Global South.

India has positioned itself as a voice for the Global South and has taken the lead in addressing issues such as food security, energy security, and fertilizer shortages.

Both sides described the talks as “open and wide-ranging,” focusing on enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, agriculture, and pharmaceuticals.
