She tweeted that she had spoken to some of her friends in the BJP and then lost the ability to make or receive calls. She promised not to make any more calls that night if her connection was restored.

Later she went on to allege that several leaders across party lines are changing their numbers constantly and talking in whispers for fear of big brother’s surveillance.

Ms. Alva’s cell phone service was eventually restored, and an FIR was filed to investigate the matter. She thanked the authorities for the response.

Margaret Alva was a part of the government herself.

Margaret Alva worked as a Minister for Parliamentary Affairs in Indira Gandhi’s cabinet, and then she eventually moved to a couple of other portfolios in Rajiv Gandhi’s cabinet.

She served as a Governor of four states – Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Goa.

Although she has the backing from most opposition parties in the vice-presidential contest, Trinamool Congress’s absentation has all but sealed her defeat against NDA’s Jagdeep Dhankhar.
