A 6.4 magnitude earthquake has struck in the north pacific region near Japan. The United States Geological Survey identified the location of the quake at coordinates 31°12’00.0″N 142°29’38.4”E.
The quake located roughly 200 miles southeast of Hachijo-jima island, and around approximately 350 miles southeast of Tokyo, has struck at a depth of 19.9 km.
There is no Tsunami warning from the USGS at the moment.
A 5.9 magnitude earthquake on October 7 this year impacted Tokyo and surrounding prefectures, halting transport and damaging water pipelines.
